[mood | pissed off]
[music |It's the middle of the fucking night!!!!!]

Well this is a wierd time for me to be updating. It's 7:00am on a Sunday. The reason I'm up is because I had to puke.
Last night I had a bit of a heavy night down the stag. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary though (like as in I drunk my usual amount of alcohol). We went down the stag because Emma and Cable are off to university today and Nelly is off tomorrow so it was a bit of a goodbye kinda thing.
I think the reason that I puked has as much to do with my eating habits as it does my drinking habits. I eat tostardos (spelling?) at about 1:00pm, then I went down the stag at 7:00 and eat some chips at about 9:00. When I got home I had a sandwich at about 1:30.
I woke up around 5:00am this morning. I didn't feel sick, but I felt thirsty so I went down stairs to have a drink. This was after tossing and turning for about 20 mins. Once I got down stairs I knew I was going to puke. The strange thing is I felt no nausea whatsoever. I felt more like I had indegestion. I also felt a little hot and wide awake. This was just like a time I puked in Spain when I went out with Lauryn's familly ages ago. I sat in the bathroom for about half an hour waiting for the inevitable, pinched my nose and puked in the toilet. Like I said before, the strange thing was I didn't feel sick.
The wierd thing is, I realized that the only really bad thing about puking is the taste (unless you make a mess everywhere of course). The actual act of puking isn't even really uncomfortable, apart from when you get puke up your nose.
Anyway after puking I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't (coz I still have a burning in my stomach and don't want to puke in bed). I ended up going down stairs and checking the mail. I read my phone bill for this month and it was £82.30!! Fuck me sideways, it's normally like £16. £52.59 or this was from international calls. The thing I noticed that was odd is that it said 62 calls made/recieved. They must have been charging me for recieving calls and sending texts and shit. Fuck knows what the rate is. I will find out though coz I signed up for an online itemised bill thing.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

[music |shhhhhh - Lauryn's in bed]

I just read through my journal from start to finnish. It's good to look through sometimes. I started this journal because I had anxiety, and that went a long time ago. Recently I've felt it very slightly. I'm not looking forward to leaving Lauryn and all my friends and family behind, but I can't wait to go to university.
Will left for America today, but Matt said Will hasn't got there yet. I hope he is alright. I told Matt to ring me if he hears any news.

[music |I just got up!]

This morning something amazing and rare happened. Lauryn made me breakfast. She mad me a lovely bacon sandwich and brought me up a cup of tea. Last night she mad me a chicken sandwich. Twice in 2 days? I must have been hallucinating. She's only made me foos a handful of times in 2.5 years.

Today I got up around 11:30. Elsie was here so I chatted to her a bit and then I sorted out my shrooms. I dunked them overnight last night, and this morning I rolled them in verm and double end cased them and put them back in my tank. I'm going to make a doctors appointment in a minute to get more sleeping pills.

First here is a picture my mum took on my crappy webcam. It is shit quality.

Here are various pictures of my cakes:

Here is a picture of the shrooms I picked last night:

Me and 3 freinds eat all of these and a few dried ones today.

Psilocybe Cubensis spores:

Ben:

Today we took all of those mushrooms and a few dried ones. God knows the weight. Bob took the least, and me and Will took the most. This is my second time taking shrooms, but my first wasn't as strong as this. We thought nothing had happened at first, but after a while I felt a bit 'funny'. I looked at the wall and saw visuals. The wall I was looking at was a textured artex wall, and the pattern on it started to be alive. I'm sure all of you know what I'm talking about. About 20mins after this Will started feeling it too. We sat in my room for a bit listening to infected mushroom and looking at the wall and shit. Then we decided to go out in my garden. We litterally spent about 45mins just looking at various textures to see how they moved. We eat a few more mushrooms in this period.
The main thing that I noticed was how everything had a wierd living kind of feel to it. It seemed like everything had a skin over it and there were things moving underneath it. I especially noticed this is my toilet, where the tiles loked like octopus skin or something. They seemed to pulsate with the textures moving and stretching in impossible ways. Also the floor seemed to be moving up and down slightly, and the walls were doing similar things.
One of the other great things to look at was the sky. We were lucky because there were loads of different types of clouds about today. The shrooms made them seem to be constantly reforming and swirling around. Also, looking at my had was wierd as was looking in the mirror. It was as if there were insects under my skin or something.
A while later we all found ourselves kind of coming down. I think it was more because we weren't doing anything and we let the mood drop (and turned the tunes off). At one point I got a little bit panicy and started thinking I would like it to stop, but I went inside, listened to sme trance and soon after that the effects wore up. By this time I was feeling good again, and eventually I looked at the wall and it was dead. A little while later I was at basline and eat some smoked salmon and palma ham and bread and stuff.

In half an hour I am leaving for the airport, and then back to England. I have enjoyed my holiday, especially as I don't get to see Dad and Sue very often. Hopefully it won't be too long until I see them again.
My dad just made as 'tostardos' again. I'm going to miss the Spannish food. I will update properly for the past few days when I get back home.

[music |All sorts in Quo]

Well I haven't updated for a while because it is kind of long updating while I'm on holiday. I went to this sort of disco place called babylon on friday night. To be honest it was a bit shit. We cam home at like 3:00am because everyone who was there started leaving.
One thing that happened, was I needed a piss and accedentally went in the girls toilets! Whoops! Some Spannish girl dirrected me to the write ones. She was laughing and I must have looked like a right dick.
Then next day we went to a restaurant called 'Ollies Treff'. Me and Bob (and Dad and Sue for that matter) know Ollie from previous visits. When we finnished our meal I asked Ollie if he would like to come to the discotek with us, and a fter a little persuasion he said yes. He shut up the restaurant and led us down to the industrial estate.
We stopped on some stairs and he rolled a spliff (he had about a half ounce of hash with him) and he smoked it. Then we went to Quo which is the discotek in Guardamar where we are staying. When we got there it was about 12:30am and no one was there. The place was about 100X better than Babylon - it was like a proper club. There were podiums and cages and a big dance floor. They had smoke machines and lights and some sick lasers.
Quo didn't really get busy til about 3:30am. We figured that when people were leaving Babylon the other night it was to go to Quo.
Once it got lively it was fucking good in there. They had semi naked girls dancing on the podiums, and Ollie danced like a sicko. Seriously - I have never seen anyone dance like Oliie.
After many expensive drinks we came home at about 6:30am.

The last 3 days have been pretty good as far as I'm concerned. On Wednesday we went to a flamenco night. We paid €25.00 each, which included a 3 coarse meal, half a bottle of wine and the night's entertainment. The food was pretty average but there was nothing wrong with it. The wine got me pretty pissed. The entertainment was excellent.
They started off with this fat Spannish woman who sung some songs for a bit. She was getting people out of the audience and making them dance with her. I think she tried to make me dance at one point but I avoided eye contact for a while and didn't have to go up. Then the flamenco dancers came on and they were really good. They were doing what seemed to be a cross between ballet and flamenco. I took loads of pictures but they don't really do the dancers justice. They changed costume about 10 times.

Yesterday we went off into the mountains to look at some Spanish towns. My dad wants to move out of his appartment and into a house, so he is kinda looking for a new place to live. Some of the villages were a little bit boring but one of them was fantastic. It was on the side of a mountain, so there were houses at different heights. There was a huge staircase in the middle of the town (179 steps) and when we got to the top of it you could see the whole town bellow us.

Today we went to my dad's friend's house. They have a little house with a pool so we just chilled in there all day today. Tonight is a friday night, which means the discos are on tonight. Apparently there is no point getting there before 1:00am so we a re going to head down there in a couple of hours.

Yesterday me, Bob and Lauryn had a pretty good lunch. I had half a chicken and chips, Lauryn had some cool grilled fish and Bob had an escalope. They had a deal on so it was like 1/2 chicken, chips, bread and a beer for €4.50 (£3). We eat a little too late though and couldn't be bothered to eat at dinner time. We ended out going down the market at 10pm and then went for a few drinks in 420 beach lounge bar which is a funky bar. We have been hearing that the disco on saturday is very good.

Also, today Bob and Lauryn were being dicks. Bob asked Lauryn if he could have a mini cheddar. Lauryn (jokingly) said no, so bob crumbled a mini cheddar in Lauryn's drink. Then they were acting like 8 year olds.

[music |NO!!!!]

Yesterday we went down the beach in the morning and walked along the edge of the see with our feet in the water. We chilledback at the pool for a bit and I took Bob down to the karaoke bar to show him how cool it is in there. After dinner we went out to some cool bar called 420beach. It had a wierd layout with sofas everywhere and loads of zebra skin coushins up one wall. We met some guy called Steve there that Sue and Dad knew. At about 1:30 we went to some next bar where there was some sick Spanish guitar guy. This guy knew how to play the guitar. He only had a classical guitar but he was doing loads of solos and shit. He was a good performer.

Before the guitaring started I was hungry all of a sudden so I walked with Lauryn down to some godgey 'kebap' shop. I had a pretty nasty chicken wrap and Lauryn had a wierd salad.

Later that night Sue wanted a coffe so we went down the karaoke bar. After that I was pretty knackered so I was out like a light when we got in.

Still got this stupid cough which is really pissing me off now!

We arrived in Spain yesterday, and went for a few drinks. We were sitting outside, and we saw some kids pile out of the disco. This turned into a massive fight thing and the police got called. Tofay we went out for a few drinks, then walked along the beach and back through the pine forest.

SHROOM DIARY ENTRY 9 [Aug. 26th, 2004|07:54 pm]
[mood | accomplished]
[music |TRANCE]

Today I made the final preperations before my holiday. I finnished teaching my mum how to use the computer/webcam so she can show me my shrooms while I'm away. I also sorted out my room so all the shroomy stuff is in the same place. My room is starting to look like some kind of wierd lab.

I also made a drying chamber. This is a plastic tub with a folded piece of paper in it and a fan to blow air on it. Here is a picture with some regular mushrooms that I am testing it on.

I also got a second tub, with a smaller tub inside it. I am going to put sillica gel in the bottom of the larger tub, and mushrooms in the smaller tub after they have had 24 hours of fanning.

[music |to early and headachey for music!]

ARRRGGHHH! I've got some shitty virus thing and it's gay. I've had it since the night before yesterday (at about midnight). I sat down after eating a cheese, spring onion and pickle sandwich and I noticed that I felt a little bit ill. I then proceeded to have to sleepless nights and some nasty sore throat thing and general feelings of shitiness for the past couple of days. Oh well. Co-codamol seems to help, getting rid of my headache.

This morning I had 2 deliveries. First I had a 1.5 kilo jar of self indicating silica gel for drying the little shroomies. Second I had my welcome to Warwick pack. It's getting forever closer, and I'm starting to look forward to going of to uni.

Also, I have kept one of the jars that sort of went mankey, and it has pinned! I will post a picture later.

[music |nothing at this precise moment in time.]

Bob got his scooter yesterday. Me and Richard have been assembling it for the past 2 days. It's going now and seems to working like a charm. I might have to have a go on it later.

I had Jerk chicken for dinner with rice and peas. It was a lot nicer than last time. Tonight I'm gonna make a stew for tomorrow.

My phone sold on ebay. £31 (+£3 PnP)!!! not bad for a 3310. Bob said he could get me a fiver for it. I'm glad I did this instead.

Tomorrow I have to go out and buy some stuff for dad and Sue. I also need to get a hair cut, pay in a cheque and get some €s . Looking forward to two weeks in the sun with my dad.

Today I taught my mum how to use a mouse! It was funny. She holds it like a retard. I showed her how to log in and run messenger so she can webcam with me when I'm in Spain. Also I dunked one of my jars and showed my mum how to do it. Expect a real update on that tomorrow, when I birth the cake.

I had roast chicken, french bread, chorizo, asparagus, ham, cheese and garlic mayonaise for dinner.

[music |AFI - God Called in Sick Today]

Last night I went out to Maidenhead. It was pretty good actually. I met up with Cable, Matt and Will at my yard, and we got a taxi into Maidenhead. First we went to Weatherspoons and had some cheap beer. After a couple of pints, we met up with this Amanda bird and went to the Toad. I got pretty pissed (considering I only took like £25 with me) and danced like a bitch. In the middle of the evening, they played some trancey songs which were well good.
Me and Cable left early and got a train back. We walked back to my yard and smoked a cigar.

This morning I felt a bit shitty but not too bad. I'm just chillin' out now.

SHROOM DIARY ENTRY 8 [Aug. 22nd, 2004|02:41 pm]
[mood | hopeful]
[music |Muse]

Here are my babies as of 22 Aug 04. I have turned all but one of the jars upside-down. The reason that I haven't turned jar B upside down is that it is still only about 50% colonized. The dry layer of verm at the top is a bit loose, and it falls away from the uncolonized material if I try to invert it, which could leave to a contam.

Jar A:

Jar B:

This jar is actually starting to show signs of growth on the bottom.

Jar C:

Jar D:

Jar E:

(I love this one)

Jar F:

Ok, I need some advice now. I'm not 100% sure about what to do next. Should I dunk the jars before I birth them? And should I put them in the fridge for a while?

At the moment, I'm thinking of leaveing them for like 3 days after they're colonized fully. Then I will take out the dry verm, and fill the jars (with the cakes still in them) with bottled water. I will leave the jars in the fridge for 12 hours before draining the water out. Then I will put the cakes on saucers and put them in my terrarium. If there is anything wrong with this could someone please tell me before I fuck it up?

Today I am gonna re-sterilize my terrarium.

Langley Park Fungus [Aug. 20th, 2004|03:25 pm]
[mood | cheerful]
[music |Delerium - Silence]

Today me and my mate Matt went out to Langley park in search of mushrooms. All though we found no psilocybe mushrooms (at least not to our knowledge) we did find a range of interesting fungi. I photographed a lot of them and brought some back to try and take spore prints.

This is my favourite mushroom that I found. It looks cool and spongey underneath.

I think it might be a Suillus (maybe Suillus granulatus) but I'm not sure coz I'm new to this mycology business.

Here are some other mushrooms we found:

And this one was Matt's favourite:

Results today! And what a day it's been!

Got up this morning when Mr Goodman called me and said "Come to school now, we need to talk tactics." I rushed into school and he chatted to me about what we would do to try and get me into Oxford.
On the table were a load of envelopes, with our names on them. I picked up my envelope and opened it.

Computer Science - A
Mathematics - A
Further Mathematics - C

Shit! Not enough even to get my insurance offer.
Mrs McDermott called Oxford right away and they said there was no chance of me going there. Next she tried to call Warwick but it was engaged.
I went home and rung Warwick for ages, trying to get through. When I did get through, they said they were unable to process my application because some results were missing. After about 4 phone calls and lots of frustrating conversation, I found out what the problem was. They thought I was doing physics and were waiting to get all my results. After a depressed and frustrating day, I found out that the coarse picker was away for the afternoon and they would try and find out whether I had a place the next day. I would find out on Monday.

Whilst this was going on, my Dad and Sue (she's a fucking saint) were also calling Warwick. They had about as much luck as I did.

I looked at my phone at about half 3 and there was a voicemail message. I listened to it and it was Warwick, telling me to call them quick. I called them and they said I had a place!!!! I was so fucking happy!!!!

Gonna go out for a drink soon and celebrate.
